Falcons survive Seattle rally, win 34-31

SEATTLE (AP) Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons did enough through 3 1/2 quarters that even the best comeback attempt by Russell Wilson fell short this time.

A couple of yards short to be exact.

Ryan threw a pair of touchdown passes, Adrian Clayborn returned a fumble 10 yards for a score and the Falcons watched Blair Walsh's 52-yard field goal attempt in the final seconds fall short, holding off the Seattle Seahawks for a 34-31 win on Monday night.

Broncos fire OC McCoy, promote Musgrave

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) Vance Joseph's switch of quarterbacks did nothing to stem the tide of turnovers, so the Denver Broncos rookie head coach on Monday changed his offensive architect.

The Broncos' first-year head coach fired coordinator Mike McCoy, his first hire when he got the job in January, and replaced him with quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave for the final six weeks of the season.

Trump wants Lynch suspended for protest

WASHINGTON (AP) President Donald Trump says the NFL should suspend Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch sat during most of the U.S. anthem and stood for the Mexican anthem before Sunday's game against the Patriots at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

Steelers RT Gilbert suspended 4 games

PITTSBURGH (AP) The NFL has suspended Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert four games for violating the league's performance-enhancers policy. Gilbert will not appeal.

The league made the announcement Monday. Gilbert will be eligible to return for Pittsburgh's visit to Houston on Christmas Day. Gilbert is banned from the team's facility until after the Steelers face New England on Dec. 17.

Ex-NFL WR Glenn dies in car crash at 43

DALLAS (AP) Former NFL receiver Terry Glenn, who caught Tom Brady's first touchdown pass with the New England Patriots in 2001, died Monday following a one-vehicle rollover traffic accident near Dallas that left his fiancée slightly hurt, officials said. He was 43.

Glenn died shortly before 1 a.m. at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office. Irving police are investigating the cause of the wreck at 12:18 a.m. on eastbound Highway 114, said Chelsey Jones, a police department spokeswoman.

Rams WR Woods to miss several weeks

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) The Los Angeles Rams managed to avoid significant injuries during their 7-2 start, but their luck turned in a 24-7 loss at the Minnesota Vikings.

The Rams lost their top wide receiver Robert Woods for several weeks with a shoulder injury, but injuries to cornerbacks Kayvon Webster and Nickell Robey-Coleman could be even more damaging with the New Orleans Saints on deck this Sunday.

Saints lose DE Okafor for rest of season

METAIRIE, La. (AP) Saints defensive end Alex Okafor will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his Achilles tendon during the fourth quarter of Sunday's comeback victory over the Washington Redskins.

Saints coach Sean Payton, who confirmed the injury on Monday, says losing Okafor is "real difficult" and that the veteran defensive end, who was acquired as a free agent this past offseason, has been "a great teammate."

Bills' McDermott evaluating starting QB

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) Bills coach Sean McDermott isn't going to be rushed into choosing a starting quarterback a day after his decision to go with rookie Nathan Peterman backfired.

McDermott on Monday said he's still evaluating whether to give Peterman another start or return to Tyrod Taylor for Buffalo's game at Kansas City this weekend.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) Green Bay quarterback Brett Hundley called his four-turnover day against the Baltimore Ravens a "big-time learning game."

The Packers are hoping he puts those lessons to good use, beginning with this weekend's trip to Pittsburgh.

Panthers' Olsen, Kalil nearing return

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) The Carolina Panther could get two key players back for the stretch run.

Tight end Greg Olsen and center Ryan Kalil returned to practice Monday following the team's bye week and could play Sunday against the New York Jets.
