He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was not sacked. Carr added 15 rushing yards on one carry.
Analysis: We've been waiting for a performance like this from Carr all season. He hadn't thrown for more than 262 yards this year and had less than 172 over his previous three games.
|Oct. 15, 2017 4:26 PM PT5:26 PM MT6:26 PM CT7:26 PM ET23:26 GMT7:26 4:26 PM MST6:26 PM EST6:26 PM CT3:26 UAE (+1)19:26 ETNaN: - Derek Carr was 21 of 30 for 171 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Oakland Raiders' 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He threw two interceptions, didn't fumble and was sacked one time.
Analysis: Carr returned to action after missing one game with a small broken bone in his back. He had a passer rating of 67.5. We're still waiting for Carr to put up the kind of numbers he had most of last season.
|Oct. 6, 2017 11:25 AM PT12:25 PM MT1:25 PM CT2:25 PM ET18:25 GMT2:25 11:25 AM MST1:25 PM EST1:25 PM CT22:25 UAE14:25 ETNaN: - Carr has been taken off the injury report and will return to start Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, two weeks after suffering a broken bone in his back.
Analysis: Carr has been limited in practice this week, but apparently has shown the Raiders enough that he's good enough to play Sunday. How poorly E.J. Manuel played last week in Carr's place may have also played a role in the decision. Carr suffered a transverse process fracture when he was sacked by Denver defensive lineman Shelby Harris and took a knee to the lower back from defensive end Adam Gotsis during the same play on Oct. 1.
|Oct. 1, 2017 6:13 PM PT7:13 PM MT8:13 PM CT9:13 PM ET1:13 GMT9:13 6:13 PM MST8:13 PM EST8:13 PM CT5:13 UAE (+1)21:13 ETNaN: - Carr exited Sunday's game at Denver in the third quarter after injuring his back while being sacked. He finished 10 of 18 for 143 yards with one touchdown in the Raiders' 16-10 loss. Carr did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times.
Analysis: Carr is expected to undergo an MRI later this week, though early indications are that he should be OK for Sunday's home game against Baltimore. Oakland's franchise QB figures to be a worthwhile fantasy start provided he's healthy enough, as he's averaged 266.4 passing yards and thrown 13 touchdowns in winning his last five starts at the Coliseum.
|Sep. 24, 2017 8:43 PM PT9:43 PM MT10:43 PM CT11:43 PM ET3:43 GMT11:43 8:43 PM MST10:43 PM EST10:43 PM CT7:43 UAE (+1)23:43 ETNaN: - Derek Carr was 19 of 31 for 118 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Oakland Raiders' 27-10 loss to the Washington Redskins. He threw two interceptions, didn't fumble and was sacked four times. Carr added five rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: Under pressure all night, Carr had thrown 112 consecutive passes before being picked off by Montae Nicholson on the second play of the game. The last time Carr had multiple interceptions in a game was Dec. 20, 2015, against the Green Bay Packers. This was a disappointing performance for fantasy owners, but we believe Carr will bounce back next time out.
|Sep. 17, 2017 4:46 PM PT5:46 PM MT6:46 PM CT7:46 PM ET23:46 GMT7:46 4:46 PM MST6:46 PM EST6:46 PM CT3:46 UAE (+1)19:46 ETNaN: - Derek Carr was 23 of 28 for 230 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the Oakland Raiders' 45-20 win over the New York Jets. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was not sacked.
Analysis: Carr and Michael Crabtree were in sync all game. With the Jets looking for a run from Marshawn Lynch from the 2 in the first quarter, Carr found Crabtree on a fade for a TD . The two connected again on a 26-yard score in the second quarter and then a 1-yarder in the fourth quarter that made it 42-13.

Analysis: Carr suffered a nasty right leg injury on Christmas last season but looked fully recovered, and he has the weapons to have another huge season.
|Aug. 13, 2017 11:25 AM PT12:25 PM MT1:25 PM CT2:25 PM ET18:25 GMT2:25 11:25 AM MST1:25 PM EST1:25 PM CT22:25 UAE14:25 ETNaN: - Carr did not play in the Raiders' preseason opener Saturday as coach Jack Del Rio opted to keep all of his star players on the sidelines.
Analysis: Carr had been expected to see his first action since breaking his right leg in a game last Christmas Eve, but Del Rio chose to have his starter sit out the opener. "It was my decision," Del Rio said. "There were several guys that didn't play and that was one of them. We'll get ready for next week."
|June 21, 2017 3:32 PM PT4:32 PM MT5:32 PM CT6:32 PM ET22:32 GMT6:32 3:32 PM MST5:32 PM EST5:32 PM CT2:32 UAE (+1)18:32 ETNaN: - The Raiders and Carr are close to finalizing a deal expected to pay the quarterback approximately $25 million per season, ESPN reported Wednesday, citing league sources. The contract is expected to be completed soon, perhaps as early as the end of the week, according to ESPN. Carr had given the Raiders a training camp deadline for the deal or planned to shut down negotiations and play the final season of his existing four-year contract.
Analysis: The deal may make Carr one of the highest-paid players in the league. Andrew Luck of the Colts receives an NFL-best $24.6 million per year, just ahead of fellow QBs Carson Palmer ($24.35 million) of the Cardinals, Drew Brees ($24.25 million) of the Saints and Kirk Cousins ($23.9 million) of the Redskins. Carr enjoyed a stellar season in 2016 before sustaining a broken fibula in Week 16. He passed for 3,937 yards with 28 touchdowns against just six interceptions.
|May 30, 2017 3:29 PM PT4:29 PM MT5:29 PM CT6:29 PM ET22:29 GMT6:29 3:29 PM MST5:29 PM EST5:29 PM CT2:29 UAE (+1)18:29 ETNaN: - Carr is confident he will have a new contract extension before the Raiders report for training camp at the end of July. If for some reason that doesn't happen, Carr said he would play out the final year of his rookie deal in 2017 rather than negotiate a new contract once camp has started and his focus is entirely on the upcoming season.
Analysis: Carr is in the final season of his bargain rookie deal that is slated to pay him just under $1 million in his fourth season. Because he was drafted in the second round, not the first, in 2014, the Raiders are unable to use a fifth-year option to retain Carr like they did earlier this offseason with star pass rusher Khalil Mack.
