Anthony Williams told the AP by phone Thursday that while the topic of retirement has yet to be broached, he intends to involve his entire family in a discussion to "make the best decision that's right for him."
Analysis: Williams spoke after his son was blindsided and bowled over by a hit from Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry in a 28-25 loss at Miami on Sunday. Williams was taken to the hospital for evaluation, but cleared to travel home with the team. It's the second consecutive season Williams has been sidelined by a severe neck injury. Coach Rex Ryan on Thursday said Williams is out indefinitely.

Analysis: Williams has been out since sustaining a concussion on Aug. 11, when he collided with receiver Dez Lewis during a team drill at training camp. The injury came on the heels of Williams having season-ending neck surgery in which doctors shaved two disks to alleviate nerve damage. He was hurt while diving headfirst in an attempt to tackle Patriots receiver Julian Edelman in Week 2.

Williams is being treated for a "suspected concussion," the team said after practice.
Analysis: The collision was extra concerning because Williams is attempting to make his way back from a neck injury. He played in just three games last season before undergoing neck surgery. Williams had a bone shaved in his neck to correct a nerve impingement, which had been causing numbness. Players said after practice that Bills coach Rex Ryan told the team Williams' injury did not involve his neck.
