Sep. 12, 2017 3:05 PM PT4:05 PM MT5:05 PM CT6:05 PM ET22:05 GMT6:05 3:05 PM MST5:05 PM EST5:05 PM CT2:05 UAE (+1)18:05 ETNaN: - It appears Savage will head to the bench in Week 2. Deshaun Watson is reportedly set to start Thursday night against the Bengals.
Analysis: Savage was benched after being sacked six times and otherwise performing poorly in Week 1, so apparently the Texans have decided to look to the future immediately.
Sep. 10, 2017 3:47 PM PT4:47 PM MT5:47 PM CT6:47 PM ET22:47 GMT6:47 3:47 PM MST5:47 PM EST5:47 PM CT2:47 UAE (+1)18:47 ETNaN: - Savage was pulled from the season opener against Jacksonville after just one half. Houston's offense failed to move the ball for two quarters during which Savage managed just 62 yards passing and lost two fumbles, including one which was returned for a touchdown to leave the Texans in a 19-0 hole at halftime.
Analysis: The switch leaves questions about who will start on Thursday night at Cincinnati for a team long plagued with problems at the position. "We've got a quick turnaround here so we've got a lot of film to watch, a lot of things to get caught up on," coach Bill O'Brien said.
Aug. 27, 2017 9:54 AM PT10:54 AM MT11:54 AM CT12:54 PM ET16:54 GMT0:54 9:54 AM MST11:54 AM EST11:54 AM CT20:54 UAE12:54 ETNaN: - Savage struggled to move Houston's offense on Saturday night. His popular backup, first-round draft choice Deshaun Watson, didn't do much to distinguish himself, either.
Analysis: Savage was 10 of 16 for 79 yards for Houston (1-2). Watson was 11 of 21 for 116 yards and also scrambled twice for 10 yards. Watson's potential to extend plays showed when he stepped up to avoid Swann's blitz, then delivered an accurate, off-balance, 22-yard pass to RaShaun Allen as he was being hit by lineman Tony McDaniel.
