Analysis: Payton, who discussed Williams' health on Thursday, says the decision to place Williams on injured reserve this week was "an easy one" because doctors made it clear that Williams would require significant rest to recover from a concussion the coach describes as one of the "more severe" he has seen. Williams was knocked unconscious when he absorbed a knee to the helmet during a collision with Giants tight end Larry Donnell.
