Analysis: McCown took a hit from Shane Ray in the third quarter, rolled over the linebacker and either was bumped by a knee or a foot - he's not sure - but knew instantly it wasn't good. He headed toward the sideline before dropping to a knee. After a quick consultation with the trainers, he went straight to the locker room.
|Dec. 3, 2017 2:14 PM PT3:14 PM MT4:14 PM CT5:14 PM ET22:14 GMT6:14 3:14 PM MST5:14 PM EST4:14 PM CT2:14 UAE (+1)17:14 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 26 of 36 for 331 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the New York Jets' 38-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was not sacked. McCown added 19 rushing yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns on the ground.
Analysis: McCown has been a surprisingly decent fantasy play with 300-yard passing performances in the last two weeks and 15 TDs through the air in the past eight games.
|Nov. 26, 2017 1:17 PM PT2:17 PM MT3:17 PM CT4:17 PM ET21:17 GMT5:17 2:17 PM MST4:17 PM EST3:17 PM CT1:17 UAE (+1)16:17 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 19 of 36 for 307 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the New York Jets' 35-27 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He did not throw an interception, fumbled once and was sacked three times. McCown added 28 rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: McCown is quietly having a pretty decent statistical season. He's not necessarily someone you want starting in real life, but he's fine for a fantasy team depending on the matchup.
|Nov. 13, 2017 12:39 PM PT1:39 PM MT2:39 PM CT3:39 PM ET20:39 GMT4:39 1:39 PM MST3:39 PM EST2:39 PM CT0:39 UAE (+1)15:39 ETNaN: - Jets coach Todd Bowles says he is sticking with veteran Josh McCown as his quarterback despite New York dropping to 4-6 as the team heads into its bye-week break.
Analysis: Bowles says during a conference call Monday that he isn't currently considering a scenario, barring injury, where he would bench the 38-year-old McCown in favor of youngsters Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty.
|Nov. 12, 2017 2:06 PM PT3:06 PM MT4:06 PM CT5:06 PM ET22:06 GMT6:06 3:06 PM MST5:06 PM EST4:06 PM CT2:06 UAE (+1)17:06 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 23 of 39 for 262 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the New York Jets' 15-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked six times.
Analysis: McCown had been a surprisingly decent fantasy play with 10 touchdowns over his previous five games before struggling in this contest.
|Nov. 2, 2017 8:27 PM PT9:27 PM MT10:27 PM CT11:27 PM ET3:27 GMT11:27 8:27 PM MST10:27 PM EST9:27 PM CT7:27 UAE (+1)23:27 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 14 of 20 for 140 yards and threw one touchdown pass Thursday in the New York Jets' 34-21 win over the Buffalo Bills. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked one time. McCown added 13 rushing yards on five carries and scored one touchdown on the ground.
Analysis: McCown didn't do a whole lot in the win as the Jets relied on their rushing attack and Buffalo's sloppy play for the win. McCown didn't throw a pick for the second straight game and has 12 total TDs in his last five games. Maybe McCown isn't a fantasy stud - ok, not maybe, he truly isn't - but he's turned into a very solid game manager.
|Oct. 29, 2017 2:10 PM PT3:10 PM MT4:10 PM CT5:10 PM ET21:10 GMT5:10 2:10 PM MST4:10 PM EST3:10 PM CT1:10 UAE (+1)17:10 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 26 of 33 for 257 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the New York Jets' 25-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Analysis: McCown had another solid day despite the soggy conditions in New Jersey. In fact, this was the first time since September that he didn't have an interception. McCown has thrown multiple TD passes in four straight games.
|Oct. 22, 2017 1:49 PM PT2:49 PM MT3:49 PM CT4:49 PM ET20:49 GMT4:49 1:49 PM MST3:49 PM EST3:49 PM CT0:49 UAE (+1)16:49 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 17 of 27 for 209 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the New York Jets' 31-28 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Analysis: McCown had a huge fantasy day with the four touchdowns, but he threw a key interception that led to the loss. He now has eight total scores over the past three games.
|Oct. 15, 2017 1:34 PM PT2:34 PM MT3:34 PM CT4:34 PM ET20:34 GMT4:34 1:34 PM MST3:34 PM EST3:34 PM CT0:34 UAE (+1)16:34 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 31 of 47 for 354 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the New York Jets' 24-17 loss to the New England Patriots. He threw two interceptions, didn't fumble and was sacked four times. McCown added 21 rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: McCown wasn't bad in this game, but he still is way too much of a threat to throw the ball to the other team.

He threw one interception, fumbled once and was sacked five times.
Analysis: Let's make this easy - don't play McCown under any circumstances. You will lose.
|Sep. 24, 2017 12:55 PM PT1:55 PM MT2:55 PM CT3:55 PM ET19:55 GMT3:55 12:55 PM MST2:55 PM EST2:55 PM CT23:55 UAE15:55 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 18 of 23 for 249 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the New York Jets' 20-6 win over the Miami Dolphins. |Sep. 17, 2017 4:48 PM PT5:48 PM MT6:48 PM CT7:48 PM ET23:48 GMT7:48 4:48 PM MST6:48 PM EST6:48 PM CT3:48 UAE (+1)19:48 ETNaN: - Josh McCown was 17 of 25 for 166 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the New York Jets' 45-20 loss to the Oakland Raiders. Analysis: McCown threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse with 9:08 remaining in the first half as the Jets cut the Raiders' lead to 14-7. He later hit Kearse over the middle for an 11-yard touchdown with 8:42 remaining, and Raiders kicker Giorgio Tavecchio hit a 29-yard field goal with 25 seconds remaining.
|Sep. 10, 2017 1:51 PM PT2:51 PM MT3:51 PM CT4:51 PM ET20:51 GMT4:51 1:51 PM MST3:51 PM EST3:51 PM CT0:51 UAE (+1)16:51 ETNaN: - McCown went 26 of 39 for 187 yards and two interceptions in the Jets' 21-12 loss to the Bills, though he did run in a TD from a yard out.
Analysis: The 38-year-old quarterback opened his 15th NFL season by extending his personal losing streak to eight games dating to Oct. 11, 2015, when he led Cleveland to a 33-30 win over Baltimore. McCown is now 1-17 in his last 18 starts.
|Sep. 1, 2017 6:38 AM PT7:38 AM MT8:38 AM CT9:38 AM ET13:38 GMT21:38 6:38 AM MST8:38 AM EST8:38 AM CT17:38 UAE9:38 ETNaN: - McCown took a shot to his chest from Eagles linebacker Joe Walker after completing a 20-yard pass to Austin Seferian-Jenkins with 7:13 left in the opening quarter of Thursday's preseason finale.
Analysis: The quarterback was down on a knee for a few moments before getting to his feet and jogging off the field toward the sideline before going down to a knee again as trainers attended to him. He's expected to be OK to start the opener, but you shouldn't be starting him.
|Aug. 28, 2017 1:08 PM PT2:08 PM MT3:08 PM CT4:08 PM ET20:08 GMT4:08 1:08 PM MST3:08 PM EST3:08 PM CT0:08 UAE (+1)16:08 ETNaN: - McCown won the New York Jets' starting job and will open with the first team when the regular season begins Sept. 10.
Analysis: The well-traveled McCown, 38, played only one series with the Jets -- in the preseason opener -- and threw a touchdown pass. It was apparently enough to edge 2016 second-round pick Christian Hackenberg. Bryce Petty, who had three touchdown passes last week, left that game against the New York Giants with a left knee injury.
|Mar. 17, 2017 9:19 AM PT10:19 AM MT11:19 AM CT12:19 PM ET16:19 GMT0:19 9:19 AM MST11:19 AM EST10:19 AM CT20:19 UAE12:19 ETNaN: - The Jets have signed McCown to a one-year contract worth a reported $6 million in guaranteed money.
Analysis: The guaranteed sum makes McCown the favorite to begin the season as the Jets' starter, where he'll serve as a bridge to either Christian Hackenberg or a rookie. The 13-year veteran, who'll turn 38 on July 4, spent the last two seasons with Cleveland and made 11 starts for the Browns, throwing for 3,209 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 13 overall games.
|Feb. 7, 2017 2:27 PM PT3:27 PM MT4:27 PM CT5:27 PM ET22:27 GMT6:27 3:27 PM MST5:27 PM EST4:27 PM CT2:27 UAE (+1)17:27 ETNaN: - McCown has been released by the Browns. McCown went 1-10 in starts over two seasons with the Browns, who cut him Tuesday before he was due a $750,000 roster bonus in March.
Analysis: McCown battled injuries throughout his stint with Cleveland. The 37-year-old got a concussion in his debut for the Browns in 2015 and twice broke his collarbone. And while he didn't produce on the field, McCown was a valuable leader for the Browns, who are still searching for their franchise quarterback. McCown passed for 3,209 yards and 18 touchdowns with the Browns. He said at the end of last season that he wants to keep playing.
