The Oakland Athletics will travel to Seattle with a little extra luggage.

Like several cases of champagne.

Brewers, Cardinals open crucial series

Minutes after the St. Louis Cardinals coughed up a lead and lost on July 14 to the Cincinnati Reds to drop to 47-46, manager Mike Matheny said they had a good run in them.

Turns out Matheny was right. But that good run wasn't with him in the dugout.

Kluber looking for first 20-win season

Corey Kluber has piled up accolades during his eight seasons in the majors.

The 32-year-old Alabama native has won two American League Cy Young awards. He has three All-Star selections. He helped guide the Cleveland Indians to the World Series in 2016, when he started Game 1 and earned the victory.

Gregorius hurt, season might be over

NEW YORK (AP) The playoff-bound Yankees blew a three-run lead against the worst team in the majors Sunday - and then came the really bad news.

New York shortstop Didi Gregorius has torn cartilage in his right wrist and is unsure whether he will be able to play in the AL wild-card game on Oct. 3. Gregorius, who has 27 homers and 86 RBIs, got injured Saturday when he slid headfirst on Aaron Hicks' 11th-inning double to score the run that clinched a postseason berth for the Yankees.

TORONTO (AP) Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Blake Snell boosted his Cy Young Award chances with another brilliant outing against the Blue Jays.

Snell won his ninth straight start in Tampa Bay's 5-2 victory over Toronto on Sunday and boosted his record to 21-5.

Dodgers rip Padres, keep lead in NL West

LOS ANGELES (AP) Matt Kemp is used to being an everyday player. With so much talent on the Dodgers, though, he's had to adjust to not seeing his name in the lineup as often.

"Does he like it?" manager Dave Roberts said. "Probably not, but he understands."

Rockies eliminate D-backs, finish sweep

PHOENIX (AP) The Colorado Rockies still have a shot at the postseason heading into the final week of the regular season after a three-game sweep of Arizona.

Kyle Freeland extended his unbeaten streak to 10 starts, and the Rockies beat the Diamondbacks 2-0 Sunday to stay 1 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West and 1 1/2 games back of St. Louis for the NL's second wild card.
