Analysis: Missing games is nothing new for Pondexter, who sat out all of the previous two seasons due to recurring knee problems. The brittle forward has been dealing with this latest injury since late September.

He had a strong debut for Boston but now with Gordon Hayward's injury, his role is likely to change. Irving will have to carry a bigger scoring load and his distribution skills may take a backseat.
