Ball grabbed eight rebounds and had 13 assists, tallying a plus-minus of -24 in his 36:24 of playing time. He tacked on one steal. Ball struggled from behind the arc, coming up empty on all five of his attempts.
Analysis: Ball's shot is still very much a work in progress, as he's hit just 34.8 percent of his field goal attempts and gone 5 of 17 on 3s through his first three NBA games. The sky's the limit once he improves that aspect, though, as the ballyhooed rookie has already shown his passing and rebounding skills are top notch. He's averaging 9.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists thus far.

Ball pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out nine assists, accumulating a plus-minus of +1 in his 37:28 on the floor. He added one steal. Ball went 4 of 9 from behind the arc.
Analysis: Ball barely missed becoming the youngest player with a triple-double, 27 days earlier than LeBron James. Though it helped facing the porous Suns defense, Ball was much more aggressive after going 1 of 6 from the field and scoring three points in a season-opening loss to the Clippers. ''The last game I shot six shots,'' he said. ''That didn't work out so well. Figured I'd try something else.'' Considering it worked, expect the youngster to keep hoisting plenty of shots.

Ball pulled down nine rebounds and had four assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -14 in his 29:21 of playing time. He added one block and one steal. Ball went 1 of 3 from behind the arc.
Analysis: Patrick Beverley dogged Ball all night, the first since that LaVar Ball is hardly doing his son any favors with his mouth. ''I just had to set the tone,'' Beverley said. ''I told him after the game, due to all the riff-raff his dad brings, he's going to get a lot of people coming at him. He has to be ready for that, and I let him know after the game. But what a better way to start him off. I was 94 feet guarding him tonight. Welcome his little young ass to the NBA.''

The Lakers announced Monday that Ball suffered a mild calf strain in the third quarter Sunday and will be cautious with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft.

Their summer showdown Monday was canceled. The Lakers decided to rest their prized pick because of a groin injury, sitting him out of their NBA Summer League game in Las Vegas against Sacramento and fellow rookie point guard Fox.
Analysis: The No. 2 pick already knows there's no use trying to stay with the faster Fox at less than 100 percent. The Lakers said Ball, who struggled in his first game but responded with a triple-double in his second, had a sore right groin.
